The FAA is the State of Design authority for the MU-2B s/n aeroplanes that were originally manufactured in the USA by Mitsubishi Aircraft International. Inc. and certified under FAA TC A10SW. These are identified in this AD as "category 2" aeroplanes. For this reason, EASA regards this FAA AD as being a State of Design AD only for the category 2 aeroplanes. For the category 1 aeroplanes, Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) AD TCD-3740A-98, which is a revision of original AD TCD-3740-92, is regarded by EASA as being the State of Design AD.
